Lessons learned in 2011… and Trends for 2012
From WikiLeaks to Anonymous and LulzSec, 2011 has been marked by an explosion of high-profile cyber attacks, and we expect this steady stream of directed attacks to continue, if not increase, in 2012.
Due to the extreme motivation behind many of today’s attacks, enterprises now require a new level of thinking and preparation when it comes to security. We must move away from thinking that technologies that block attacks at the perimeter, or use signatures to detect malware, are enough to keep us safe.
Instead, organizations must turn to technologies that provide visibility into the internal network, uncovering both external attacks that bypass perimeter defenses, as well as dangerous insider activities.
