Al-Watania for Industries (WFI) Case Study

- ABOUT CLIENT
Al-Watania for Industries (WFI) is a member of Al-Watania Group, the leading
industrial Saudi conglomerate with more than 34 years of experience in various
fields. WFI runs five different industrial lines of business through five
affiliate companies.
- CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
The former version of the WFI Website grouped all five companies of WFI together
within a single static, outdated Website that provided little information about
the group and did not reflect the company’s current status & market position, &
provided little space for content management or update. To cope with huge
business growth and the current company position in the market, WFI needed to
break down its current static, all-encompassing Website into five independent
dynamic Websites to allow each company to showcase its own set of products and
reflect its unique identity through a separate Website that provides content
management capabilities and can keep up with companies ever-changing product
catalogue.
- Main Challenge:
Each of the WFI affiliate companies has a huge product catalogue that is
difficult to be made customizable due to their various specifications and layout
techniques. Microsoft CMS has no predefined technique that can be used to
overcome this problem.
- OUR RESPONSES
GNS successfully managed to provide a solution that combines & integrates
Microsoft CMS with a GNS developed module that provides the flexibility required
to customize and update product catalogues for each company with great ease. The
newly developed Web sites each reflects the unique identity of the company while
maintaining a clear line of similarity with the rest of the group Websites
linking back to the parent WFI website.
